The situation at the border within the last 24 hours
As a result of the specific activities within the area of competence, in order to monitor and control the state border, as well as to prevent and combat illegal migration and cross-border crime, the Border Police officers, during the last 24 hours, registered the following illegal acts:
Two Moldovans tried by all means to smuggle into the country a spare part for a car, but their plan was ruined by Border Police officers.
The Border Police officers revealed a Moldavian citizen, who was driving a Peugeot 607, without possessing a driving license.
At the Chisinau-Airport BCP the joint team of Border Police officers and Customs Service officers detained 85 vials of Diazepam. The psychotropic substance was detected in the baggage of a Moldovan citizen.
During 2013, Border Police officers found 307 cases involving 315 persons who used false documents to cross the border. Out of the 315 persons, 253 are citizens of the Republic of Moldova. In 2012, 301 cases of using false travel documents were registered.
Today, 4 February, basing on evidence collected by BP criminal investigation officers, the court of Rascani district, conceded the approach of the General Prosecutor’s Office and applied a 30 days preventive arrest to the man accused of smuggling 80 kg of hashish.
