Border situation, the balance of the week
As a result of carrying out specific activities in the area of competence, the Border Police officers, during 17 - 23 February 2014, revealed and documented 142 persons, who violated the border and migration legislation of the Republic of Moldova, as it follows:
In order to improve the quality of training with regard to assistance of the persons who need a kind of border protection, the representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Bureau of Migration and Asylum of MIA organized a thematic seminar for the students of the National College of Border Police.
A Syrian national was turned back at the border because he used a partially forged passport. On February 18, at the border crossing point Sculeni, presented himself a man in order to enter the country, who identified himself with the passport issued by the Syrian authorities.
The Border Police officers together with Customs Service officers prevented the fraudulent introduction of a consignment that was hidden in specially designed places of the route bus.
300 contraband cigarettes were found in the train that had the itinerary Ungheni- Iasi. The tobacco products were hidden in specially designated places in one of the train cars.
