Five men, a Moldovan and four Ukrainians were detained by Border Police officers for illegal border crossing of the Moldovan- Ukrainian border.

During the previous day, the inspectors of the Border Police Sector Tudora observed in the direction Udobnoe - Palanca, two persons who freely crossed the border from Ukraine to Moldova. The men's actions were monitored, and when they were on the Moldovan side they were stopped for carrying out the appropriate checks. The preliminary investigation revealed that the men were a Moldovan - aged 29, resident of Dubasari town and an Ukrainian - aged 46, from Kazarovici village, district Vîşgorod.
The persons recognized that they crossed the border illegally on the grounds that the Ukrainian citizen lacked any identity papers.

A similar case was recorded this morning. The inspectors of the Border Police Sector Ocniţa retained, at the direction Clocuşna – Sokireanî, three young men, without any identity documents. The persons said they were citizens of Ukraine and intended to go on a visit, and the absence of the identity documents determined them to cross the border illegally.

In both cases, the employees of the Border Police have drawn reports on findings regarding the illegal crossing of the state border; the persons have been detained for further investigations and in order to establish all the circumstances.

Note: During 2013 the employees of the Border Police registered 172 cases of illegal state border crossing, where were involved 243 persons. In the first three months of this year were also documented 25 cases and retained 38 persons.
