Border Police officers have prevented a case of illegal fishing

screenshotOn the basis of the actions carried out in preventing and combating attempts to breach the border regime, as well as to detect persons who violate the provisions of the law in force, the Border Police officers of the Regional Directorate "South" within the last 24 hours, were able to counteract a case of illegal fishing.

During yesterday night at around 01.00, when performing the actions of border surveillance and control, the inspectors of the Border Police Sector Brînza observed at the direction Slobozia Mare - Tuluceşti, at about 1000 meters from the state border, two men who can not justify their presence in the respective area.

After the verification it was found that the two Moldovan citizens were the inhabitants of Slobozia Mare Cahul district, aged between 21 and 23. The young men had three monofilament nets with a total length of 300 m and different fish species in the amount of 115 pieces.

According to Article 332 paragraph 1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Moldova, to the two respective persons have been drawn up protocols, being imposed a fine of 10 c.u. for the breach of the border regime, later they being passed due to the competence to the Cahul Fisheries Inspectorate for further research and legal measures to be taken.
