6 drug traffickers from France into Republic of Moldova, detained in the Capital

a2The employees of the Special Investigations of the Border Police in common with the officers of the Prosecutor’s office of Chisinau municipality held during the months of February - May 2014 documentation actions of the criminal activities of some individuals involved in the introduction of contraband of psychotropic substances "Subutex" on a large scale, as well as its distribution in the Republic of Moldova.


In order to identify the persons involved and to elucidate the leaders and to establish the smuggling routes and places of storage of drugs, the Border Police officers undertook measures on visual tracking, tapping of discussions, acquisitions of control, including the use of undercover investigation officers. As a result, the employees of the Border Police have identified six persons aged between 24 and 38, all with criminal records, also for the illicit drug trafficking. The leader of the criminal group was monitored multilaterally, he used passenger bus that traveled at the itinerary Chisinau- Paris- Chisinau to enter through the border crossing point Leuşeni - Albiţa the psychotropic substances Subutex, while their hiding in places specially arranged. The monitoring and the uncovering of the criminal scheme led to apprehension in flagrant of the group leader in Chisinau municipality. From the illicit circuit were seized about 100 coated tablets and other objects used by the members of the criminal activity.

At the same time, the Border Police officers have established due to special investigative activity data that a coated tablet on the black market in Paris was purchased by the group leader for the price of 7 euros / piece, and for the final consumer the price reached 45 euro / piece. However, in order to increase the profits, the smugglers divided Subutex coated tablet into 8 doses, thus while the drug seizure it was possible to avoid circulation of over 800 doses. Also, if possible distributions of drugs, the offenders would receive an illicit income of 80,000 MDL.

Throughout the documentation activity of the international network it has been established that 6 persons involved were able to introduce in the country and to put into illicit circulation 200 coated tablets.
All those documented persons are now under arrest and if proving their guilt shall be punished with imprisonment for 7-15 years.
We remind that on April 24, the employees of the Border Police Department's special investigations Directorate conducted a series of prosecution actions and special investigative measures, including searches at multiple suspects, being apprehended in flagrant 2 persons while carrying out the selling of the smuggled drug from French Republic.
