Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration announces that there have been completed by both parties, the internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Turkey on mutual abolition of visas, as well as the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the readmission of the persons being in a situation of an illegal stay signed in Ankara on the 1st of November 2012.
Thus, as of June the 1st, 2014, pursuant to the Agreement on abolition of visa regime, the citizens of both countries, who hold a valid travel document (simple passport or biometric passport), are exempt from the visa requirement to enter, exit, transit and temporary stay in the other State for a period of up to 90 days within 6 months from the date of the first entry. The Moldovan citizens who want to travel to Turkey must have a passport valid for at least 60 additional days to the intended exit day.
These rules are valid also for the citizens of both countries carrying out international transport of goods and passengers and for the train, trucks and buses drivers and drivers’ assistants and for the crew members of the civil airplanes, trains and locomotives.
The Moldovan citizens who want to travel to Turkey for a period exceeding the period mentioned shall require a long-stay visa.
