The National Council on Integrated Border Management met in a working session

7On 6th August, the members of the National Council on Integrated Border Management (NCIBM) met within an ordinary meeting. The activity focused on discussing the draft National Strategy on Integrated Border Management for 2014-2017 (NSIBM) and its Action Plan according to provisions of NCIBM Regulation.

The meeting was held within the Border Police Department and was chaired by the Acting President of the NCIBM, Head of the Border Police Department – Mr. Dorin Purice. The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Mr. Serghei Diaconu, the Head of the Cabinet of the Minister – Mrs. Irina Mihalachi, national and international experts, and heads of Border Police subdivisions also participated at the meeting.

The agenda included topics related to: achievements, issues and priorities of NSIBM for 2011-2013; draft NSIBM for 2014-2017 and its Action Plan; issues related to amendment and supplement of NCIBM Regulation and its members; prospects for implementation of the new Strategy.
CNMIFS President thanked the participants for their active involvement in implementation of the previous strategy, for valuable suggestions in the process of developing the new Strategy and expressed the wish to develop inter-agency cooperation during implementation.

"To achieve the compatibility, interoperability and integration - which are the words expressing the synthetic purpose of the new NSIBM – we believe that it is necessary to develop cooperation between our institutions, based on mutual respect and our competences" concluded Mr. Dorin Purice.
The discussions also focused on implementation of the previous NSIBM. As it was outlined, launching of the new Strategy represents exploring the positive experience gained during 3 years of implementation of the previous policy document, and also ensuring continuity and a good platform for new areas of development.

NOTE: The draft new Strategy was elaborated within the national and international framework promoting the European Integration endeavors of the Republic of Moldova, and strengthening the reform achieved through implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan.
