Training on area of trafficking in persons

tr1On April 23, the employees of the Western Regional Directorate participated in a specialized training on human trafficking. The training course was organized by the representatives of the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM).

The topics discussed during the training focused on identifying and interviewing potential victims of human trafficking, determining what actions and measures shall be taken by Border Police officers in order to provide the necessary assistance to this category of persons.

Similarly, the experts were familiar with the legislative framework that regulates the prevention and combating the trafficking in persons, the difficulties faced by staff in determining potential victims and their recognition and offenders’ modus operandi. The Border Policemen were involved in practical activities of detection and interviewing the victims of human traffickers.

Although EUBAM focuses its activity at the Moldovan - Ukrainian border, the experts of the Territorial Office of Mission, located in the city Otaci provide training to the employees of the Border Police subdivisions at Moldovan-Romanian border, in order to improve professional skills.
