Access to the border area

Border area is the territory 10 km width inland from the state border.

In the border area is forbidden:
- shooting using weapons in the direction of the state border;
- damaging or breaking border signs, equipment or technology intended for border checks and surveillance;
- causing and/or expanding fire in the limits of the border protection strip;
- performing activities that may pollute water, air or soil;
- discussing over the state border;
- exchanging objects or correspondence over the state border.
Within the border area, border police officers have the right to check identity cards of persons and verify means of transport.

1. Floresti district – villages: Temeleuti, Tirgul Vertiujeni.

2. Persons permanently residing in border area localities shall hold an access permit to the border area. The identity card serves as proof that the person resides in the border area. It should be handed to the border police officer at request.

Persons who do not reside in the border area shall obtain the access permit issued by Border Police.

The access permit enables the holder to stay in the sector limits within the period provided in the permit, as well as to perform authorized activities.

The access permit may be obtained at the Border Police Department or its territorial subdivisions (Border Police Sectors). The documents required for issuing the access permit are the following:

- identity card (+ copy);
- application to obtain the permit (indicating the purpose and requested period);
- personal responsibility statement providing that the person did not previously violate border law and complied with legislation while staying in the border area.

Grazing, fishing, hunting in the border area

Grazing is allowed in places established by public administration authorities and by notifying the Border Police. During the day grazing is authorized up to the border protection strip, and during the night – at least 500 meters from it.  

Fishing in the border area is allowed during the day with preliminary notice of the Border Police and complying with rules and restraints provided by law.  

It is forbidden shooting and hunting over the state border, hunting within the border protection strip in 500 meters depth. Hunting beyond 500 meters is allowed only during daylight with preliminary notice of the Border Police and complying with rules and restraints provided by law.
