For ten days, the Border Police employees were involved in the operation "GEMINI - 2016". The undertaken actions under operation aimed at combating cross-border crime on several areas of activity: human trafficking and illegal migration, smuggling and illicit trafficking of goods, illicit trafficking in vehicles registered abroad, illegal circulation of narcotic substances, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors, and other illegal activities taking place at the state border.
Between 5 to 7 July 2016, in the city of Tallinn, Estonia, was held the working meeting between the representatives of border institutions of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Estonia, were discussed the prospects of bilateral institutional cooperation. The Moldovan delegation was led by the acting head of the Border Police Department, Erhan Ianus.
The second class of graduates of the Academy "Stefan cel Mare" of MIA, prepared for the Border Police, presented today at the headquarters of the Department in order to perfect the package of documents and get acquainted with border subdivisions, where the youth will debut as employees with full rights.
A typical characteristic for the summer period is actually significant increase of the number of participants in cross-border traffic. In these circumstances, the Border Police has arranged a series of additional working actions at checkpoints designed to streamline the traffic, reduce waiting times at border control and avoid the formation of queues.
Within the period 27 June - 3 July 2016 at the crossing points was noted a significant increase in the number of crossings of the state border. The flow of persons was 412 568 crossings, with 4.79% more than the previous week and the traffic of transport units showed a value of 91 685 crossings, increasing by 3.3% compared to last week.
